I looked out the window...

...And what did I see?

I guess this whole being able to open my eyes in the morning and see is a little overrated.  The first thing I saw this morning when I opened my eyes was this dreaded snow and all it made me want to do was pull the covers up over my head and go back to sleep.  It's not so much the snow as the 30 degrees weather swing from our +10 a couple of days ago.  ugh!!

I Can See Clearly Now...

...And it is AMAZING.  It has been two weeks now since I had my eyes fixed and I love it.  I can see without the fuss of glasses or contacts.  I use to think that the best part would be to wake up and just be able to see ( which is great, but my eyes are still kind of dry in the mornings so the first thing I do is eye drops) but what excites me is getting ready to go to bed and being able to see.  It's a totally new and different feeling for me and I have to keep reminding myself not to put my fingers in my eyes to try to take out my contacts.  My eyes are still adjusting so if anything, it is only going to get better.  I'm happy.  It was totally worth it.

New Eyes

Over the Christmas holidays, as I was getting ready one morning, I tore one of my contact lenses (and no, I don't have disposables where I can just pop in another).  I was so upset cause that meant I had to wear my glasses until I could figure out what to do.  It was either make an appointment with my eye doctor (which I have none), get my eyes checked, get new contacts, and glasses (cause these ones suck),  or......... get laser eye surgery.  I have been wanting to do that for years so I figured now was as good a time as any.  And there was no better way to prepare or excite me for the surgery than to make me wear my glasses for 3 weeks.  I can't stand them, I hate them and want to get rid of them.  They fog up in this darn cold, they fall off my face, I can't see anything when I swim and they are not a strong enough prescription (cause I hardly ever use to wear them) so I get headaches as I strain my eyes.  So I head in tomorrow to get my new eyes, or I guess just fix my old ones, but it will feel like new eyes and I am soooo excited!!

Super Nova

Nova - Merry Christmas 2010

She's a great puppy.  Sleeps through the night, does most of her business outside, almost never barks, is very playful and the kids love her.

Merry Christmas

So far we have had a wonderful holiday season.  Grandma, Kevin, Megan, Makayla, and Danniqa came for a visit and we had a lot of fun.  It is sure nice to be able to have family around for Christmas.  We went to Heritage Park for the "Once Upon a Christmas", where we went for a wagon ride, made crafts, visited the shops and houses, saw the model train sets, and ate cinnamon buns and hot chocolate.  It was cold but we had a good time!

On Sunday, we went to church for a very nice Christmas program (one of my very favorite Sundays of the year) and then that evening, Christmas arrived early at the Sorenson home in the way of a puppy!  The kids were so excited and love her to pieces.  She is an eight and a half week old beagle named Nova with a very good temperment and she has quickly made herself a part of the family.

The rest of the week with the cousins consisted of games, playing, cookie decorating, swimming at the wave pool, live Nativity pagent at Heritage Park and gift exchange among the cousins.

Christmas Eve, we had diner with Brad family at our house, a nice roast beef diner and then Christmas morning came.  Mexico and the puppy were supposed to be Christmas but some how, the kid still all ended up with lots of presents (oops, my fault).  It was a great Christmas and we look forward to a very happy and exciting new year!

Black Belts

It's been a lot of hard work, perseverance, dedication, and a long time coming.  On Saturday, both Billy and Adam achieved their black belts in tae kwon do and they were both thrilled.  What an accomplishment!!  We are so proud of you Billy and Adam!

Day Six

Today we went to Tulum to take a tour and check out the ruins.  It was actually quite interesting.  We asked for a Mormon guide and he did a really good job.  His name was Limhi and he gave each of the kids a necklace with the depiction of the tree of life on it - one to Billy for saying the first article of faith and one to each of the others cause, well, they really wanted one.  It was really hot that day but very beautiful.

That night we ate at the Mexican restaurant and then they had a Caribbean show in the theater.

I may add more pictures later but for now I need to move on or I'll get so far behind
